The project behind the songs<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Particle Collapse is my independent music project. Through punk and alternative rock, I explore what challenges our sense of identity: words left unspoken, contradictions we recognize in others and then in ourselves, and the distance between who we thought we would become and who we are. Each concept album explores these questions through a story. Autobiography meets literature, philosophy, and social criticism: personal experiences become characters, images, and songs that others might recognize themselves in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ogni concept album affronta queste domande attraverso una storia. L\u2019autobiografia incontra la letteratura, la filosofia e la critica sociale: esperienze personali diventano personaggi, immagini e canzoni in cui anche qualcun altro possa riconoscersi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WHY CONCEPT ALBUMS?<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n

I grew up with this musical idea: a song on its own can be a hit, but within an album it can build something bigger. Developing a central idea across several songs also makes the creative process much more enjoyable and pushes you towards deeper introspection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BUT DON\u2019T ALGORITHMS FAVOUR SINGLES OVER ALBUMS?<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n

So what? Making an album matters to me because it forces me to dig deep within myself. After every album, I learn something new about who I am. That\u2019s how it all began. Then I thought: maybe other people might enjoy this or find something useful in it too. And that\u2019s how Particle Collapse was born. These songs aren\u2019t radio-friendly; they aren\u2019t made to rack up streams; they don\u2019t follow the latest trends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DO I HAVE TO LISTEN TO THE WHOLE ALBUM FROM START TO FINISH?<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n

You can start with one song and stop there if it speaks to you. But the track order is part of the story: some passages take on a different meaning because of what came before, while others only find an answer at the end. I like to think of each song as a doorway. You decide how long to stay and which rooms to explore.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

It all started by chance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A few months ago, we lost an aunt we all loved dearly. One morning, as I was taking my youngest daughter to school, she said to me: \u201cIt\u2019s so sad when people go away.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Music as a way to connect<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In that moment, I tried to explain how life works and how I was feeling. I tried to understand more about what she was feeling too, but after she got out of the car, I wasn\u2019t sure I had got through to her. So I decided to try reaching her through a song. Music has always been my way of making sense of my emotions, and I thought it might work for her too.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

AI as a tool<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I then created the song with Suno: it was perfect! That was how my first song, I Still Feel You, came to be. I don\u2019t know whether it helped her, but she liked it. Over the following days, I opened Suno again and began turning into songs all the emotions I hadn\u2019t yet been able to put into words. That became my first album: The Things I Never Said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Concept albums as catharsis<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

At fourteen, I wore my fingertips raw learning to play guitar and be in a band. It was fantastic. Today, I\u2019m fully aware that AI will create a lot of \u201cnoise\u201d, making it even harder for great artists to stand out. That\u2019s why I\u2019ve promised myself I won\u2019t make songs just for the sake of it, but concept albums: stories with a reason to exist, first and foremost for me.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
